Reminder to All AGS Members: The philosophy lecture of our

American Goethe Society http://americangoethe...

On Thursday, 31 March, Professor Ted Kinnaman, George Mason University, will give a lecture on

"The Relevance of Kant in American Philosophy Today." --

American philosophy and literary theory have, over the last decade, taken a surprising turn away from Hegelian thought toward the earlier philosopher Kant (1724-1804). This lecture explores the reasons and consequences of that turn in the fields of philosophy and literary history, particularly as it concerns Romanticism. --

Time: March 31. 6:45 - 7:45 pm
Place: Goethe-Institut, 812 7th St., Washington DC

Metro Stop: Gallery Place/Chinatown

Light refreshments following the lecture

Sponsor: American Goethe Society in conjunction with the Goethe-Institut.

For some interesting background reading, check out the three articles on Kant in the January/February issue of the magazine "Philosophy Now" - The title page displays Kant as Superman, "Master of Space and Time?"

This magazine is available at Barnes and Noble and is found in the science section of their extensive collection of magazines. While you are there check out their philosophy section.
