The second of our new series of meetings, hosted by the New York Society for Ethical Culture. The general theme for the first four meetings will be ethics and moral theory. This second discussion will look at the difference between utilitarianism and duty ethics through the decision making process of two well known and controversial American Presidents. Just in time for the end of Primaries season!

Suggested background reading, in the form of an article by Michael Rockler in Philosophy Now is available at our files section.

After the actual meeting, some of us will gather at a local watering hole for more informal chatting abut life, the universe and everything...
