- Hy everyone, Postings on the upcoming topic pretty much sold me on trying this group. Good discussions on real intellectual issues are rare in the OC. Looking forward to the meeting. BTW, my focus is on the integration of "is" & "ought."

“ I think that this group, based on my one sample so far, would be a good place for people who want to get serious insight into philosophical issues and how they are argued, as well as those who may be entertained or amused by intellectual contests. Some "participants" were apparently happy to simply sit and listen, while others became passionately engaged in pushing a particular point. Still others seemed to attempt to keep the discussion on a rational footing related to the posted topic, with a fair degree of success. All told, there was clearly quite a diversity of both opinion and purpose among the attendees, implying perhaps that even more such diversity might be well tolerated. ”
